Turning the clock back to a few years ago, the Refugee Crisis period. Thousands of refugees arrived in the European Union, traveling across the Mediterranean Sea or overland through Southeast Europe. It was being a very hot issue in 2015 that whether countries should welcome refugees or not, peoples are holding opposite opinions about the refugee issue. However, celebrities are mostly supporting refugees by taking actions.
The British actor Sacha Baron Cohen and his wife Isla Fisher donated $1 million to help Refugees, $500,000 to Save the Children, the world’s leading independent organization for children. Their donation paid for measles vaccinations for more than 250,000 children in Northern Syria. Nowadays, celebrity plays a significant role in the society. Celebrities' single tweet can influence over 10,000 people about their opinion, their single speech can raise over $10,000, and their single action can be 10x more effective than others.
The power of Celebrity Culture can not be ignored and they are one of the strongest voice when comes to the issue of Refugee.
